If you’ve switched on the news recently, you’ll have no doubt been shown heartbreaking images of refugees struggling to survive as they escape from their own, war torn countries. SKT Welfare was founded in 2008, and helps to relieve the suffering of the world’s poorest communities.
Since its conception, it has given aid to people in the UK, Pakistan, India, Morocco, Somalia, Palestine and Syria. The charity has recently launched an emergency humanitarian response to help the quarter of a million refugees that have fled Myanmar and the violence that’s taking place there. In the current crisis in Myanmar, it is people from the Islamic community that are being targeted and forced to leave their homes.
These refugees are sick, exhausted and starving. They’re in desperate need of help, some of them have children and newborns who have already seen brutality that many people in the UK can’t even imagine.
One of our most successful solicitors, Shahid, will be volunteering his time to help these communities. He’s going out there to offer his support and raise the funds so badly needed to assist these individuals – his minimum fundraising target is £3000.
If you would like to help us reach our target and donate to the cause, visit our JustGiving page and donate today.
Shahid will be in Bangladesh from 29th October to 4th November.
